Ed E Ruger brings his arsenal in Ziplocked & Loaded, his fourth solo album which is fully loaded with sixteen bangers, no blanks in this clip.
The North Carolinian rapper kicks it off with "40 Bars" Produced by J.J The Jenius, where he speaks of his hard work and the struggles even before the music, a great way to get acquainted with Ed E and a great opener. The grind continues with "This is The Life" where he's speaking about partying before and after his shows and dealing with the aftermath, while remembering what's important, sounds like too much fun.
He then takes time out to "Thank The Streets" Produced by J.J The Jenius and features Drawzilla and Seven. Speaking on how Hip Hop music has been an outlet and something else to focus on and a weapon against his demons.
"Word On The Curb" He vents his frustration on this one with the state of the music these days and challenges weak dumb rappers to step up! "Ballin" Produced by DubKiller. This ones a club banger, one the weld spots on your car will have a time with. More of a state of mind than being rich, but won't be long though.
Now it's time to switch to The "B Side" Produced by Showdown Beats. Not on a tape but the B side, as in the people on the other side of the poverty line doing what ever they need to do.
It's time for Ed E Ruger, Kaze and Chaundon to "Crush Careers" so be careful if you're thinking of going against these guys, they won't hold no punches!
"Like Yeah" features Rise Da Project & P Wonda, a real feel good banger keeping a positive attitude regardless of what the haters think, but amidst of all the drama the obstacles he's "Still Standing" featuring J. Harris which is like a celebration of his achievments through all the adversities. Whatever you do though, don't wish him luck "Luck's for Losers" It's all hard work, blood sweat and tears, luck aint nothing but skill and opportunity.
"In The Clouds" is one for all you smokers out there, don't think I need to elaborate.
A real enjoyable album with something for everyone, from the country folkesque type vibe to the club, to the dirty south style you'd expect for N.C. Ed E Ruger definitely goes in firing with no holds barred, determined to take the game where it should be! A talented lyricist with great word play, memorable one liners and metaphores.
