HELL RELL If you like that raw gutter New York Rap then this my friend is a most definitely one CD you need. There’s no Auto Tune on here, and it’s totally free of the normal run of the mill radio single that features either T-Pain, Akon, Lil Wayne or Sean Kingston! Yeh it’s real raw and hits hard from the first track. Hell Rell is one of my favourite rappers from the Dipset camp, I like his ‘no bubblegum’ approach to the game. He just spits about life and it’s easy to see that he has lived. This year has already been a busy year for Hell Rell with him already releasing a string of albums such as ‘Get In Line Or Get Lined Up’, ‘Hard As Hell’, ‘Hell Up In The Bronx’ and the mixtape ‘The Extermination (Return Of The Grind)’, but on a level I think this is his best release of 2009. Why? Well there’s a number of reasons… the production is tight, adventurous and hits hard, Rell himself gives up some great song concepts, but above all its on hard on-point flow and swagger. ‘Live From Hell’ is a CD you will play, then immediately jack up and play over! Some of the key tracks for me include ‘By Your Side’ well Rell talks on his gun as if it was his girl, the hard-hitting ‘So Cold’ and my favourite cut ‘Motion Picture’. Thirteen tracks deep this CD is worth its weight in gold and is one of the best albums from a New York artist in 2009. Shouts to Hell Rell, DJ Phantom and everyone else involved in making this project. It’s a great release and surely will put Hell Rell where he needs to be. I look forward to his forthcoming 2010 ‘Bullpen Therapy Out On Bail Volume One’ with great excitement. Check out Review by Tricksta
