The UK’s second city has always produced some quality Hip-Hop act, and artists such as MSI & Asylum, Moorish Delta 7, Malik and many others have all helped to shape the scene there. Now we get some of those seasoned veterans from the golden era of UK Rap back in action with this album from Jailhouse, an independent record label and movement that is making people stand up to sounds of inner-city Birmingham. This album features the likes of label boss Sir Tomz, alongside the sultry songstress Nih'illi, and Midland’s legends Cyrus, Blackitude and Juice Aleem. All artists involved here go hard and the beats are top notch too, it’s well produced music that has originality and doesn’t rely on famous loops or samples. Its real or the way through and is almost like a road-mans guide book. Sir Tomz & co. drop science on various topics throughout the album but my favourite cuts have to be ‘Stack It Up’, ‘How I Do This’ and ‘Change’. With twenty tracks there’s a lot of good music here, make sure you get up on it, we are! Birmingham Hip-Hop with style, finesse and originality. Grab it now… Review by Tricksta |
