Out now and already getting loads of good press and radio support from the likes of BBC Radio One, Kiss FM, Choice FM, BBC Asian Network and Capitol, ‘Dear Listener’ is much anticipated debut album from the original UK street poet. It’s a carefully crafted audio journey that bounces from topic to topic with ease and solid production. Ever since he started rapping, back when he was seventeen he has impressed with deep political views which has led to him being a very sought after artist. The debut album is only twelve tracks deep and features just a hand full of guests including Wretch 32 and Logic, which really helps the CD immensely as Lowkey is without a shadow of a doubt a man who can hold his own. Beats come from some heavy hitters too like Scram Jones, Styalz Fuego and the well-respected Quincy Tones. I am loving the single ‘Alphabet Assassin’ which definitely gives Papoose a run for his money, as well ‘Relatives’, ‘Tell Me Why’ and ‘The Essence’. This is quality stuff and I hope that people don’t sleep on this release or his supergroup Mongrel which includes members of Artic Monekys and Babyshambles amongst others. This is such a solid album and a true testament to a real UK talent.
