Yes we all now Mowgli from the Rudyard Kipling’s book and Disney Classic The Jungle Book, but this album is by a 23 year old north London emcee, who delivers his debut album ‘93’ on Dodeca Records. You won’t find any club bangers or auto tune on here! Mowgli creates a soundtrack to the streets with his rapid fire, thought-provoking, descriptive lyricism over a backdrop of some sinister, eerie, and complex beats, provided by Platitas, Fred Fades, Chris Fader, Jimmy Wahgwan and Miss Moss. The album may be a little too long with 23 tracks but when you look at the sleeve notes you see that some of the beats and lyrics were written in 2005 and perfected in 2009. Maybe he wanted to showcase his journey so far on this album. Flames Flutterby, Jamm Baxter, Stowaway, Nicole Rowley, Mp3dom and Sound Scientists also feature. Mowgli’s ‘93’ is available to but now from many music outlets.
