PINK PUNK ‘Zombie God Delicious’ (Freeport Records) www.ppunk.com
This really isn’t normally my type of thing; it’s a tripped-out dub-fused affair that fuses various elements of modern and live music together. The vocals come on a more spoken word tip, with ‘Catalogue Democracy’ showing the same attitude as early raw Hip-Hop like Public Enemy and BDP. It has some great bass sounds all the way through and some great use of samples and good musicality although I must say this is experimental and is very hard to pigeon hole. I guess its Hip-Hop related, but on the whole I guess its just Pink Punk doing what they do best! If you are open-minded and want to check some refreshingly and excitingly new then please make sure you grab this when it’s released in July. Very original!
