Out now on De Facto Entertainment comes this brand new project from the well respected Basingstoke based producer and label CEO Stealf. Here is a producer that has been producing for a good few years now, and has worked with numerous well respected names in the UK and the USA. Here we have, in my opinion, his best project to date. Why? Well there are a few reasons. I think the selection of beats as a project are near to perfect, with the right selection of shades of vibes to create something that sounds good together. The fact the that this project wasn’t even made in that way, is even more of a testament to the creator, as this is collection of unreleased tracks, tracks off current releases as well some official remixes, but it does actually sound like an album, with massive posse cuts, solo joints and duo collaborations this is so well rounded.

Stealf’s style of intricate sampling is something he has become known for, and the use of his favourite toy the Akai MPC is used to full effect with the beats sounding real tight with some great instrumentation. This is coupled though with the fact that the rappers on this project are tough too. I mean for anyone into UK Hip-Hop I could tell you that you need to download this straight away anyway because it features a cream of brilliant talented names, some legendary some new, but all of them good; Genesis Elijah, Kashmere, Big Dutty Deeze, Sonnyjim, S. Kalibre, D. Gritty, Mista Flix and Clas-Sick all making notable appearances.

If you hate UK Hip-Hop for some strange reason isn’t your bag (sorry could help but patriotic and sarcastic, lol!), then trust me there’s enough Stateside material on here too to rave about. The QB legend himself Kool G Rap features on a sick track with Jackitdown Brown, a talented artist who recently released an EP on De Facto himself, as does an official remix of a track by G Unit’s Lloyd Banks. There’s other notable contributions from the likes of Kontact from Brown Bag Allstars, the talented Solomon D'Augustine, Blackwall Street’s Nu JerZey Devil and St. Laz, a rapper I’ve been feeling for years (we did a mixtape together back in 2005).

It’s a great step forward for Stealf with such a great show reel of real organic and forward thinking beats on this. This, for me, is where Stealf can sit back and feel proud, because this my friends is a solid release. If you like your Hip-Hop delivered with a garnish then Stealf is the chef for you, I can’t wait to see what else he cooks up.
