This is good. Seriously this is a real good, solid and above all a great listen. I think Wale will appeal to fans of Jay-Z, Kayne West, N.E.R.D and Lupe Fiasco and fans of good Hip-Hop in general, but on a level he has that certain extra special something that really could take him proper mainstream. Not because his music is watered down, but because he has mass appeal.

What’s nice about ‘Attention Deficit’ is it works as an album not just fourteen tracks just banged together, which is why it sold almost 30,000 first week and has put Wale on the Hip-Hop map. There’s a lot of good stuff on the album including the Mark Ronson produced ‘Mirrors’ was which features a guest verse from UGK’s Bun B as well as ‘Let It Loose’ which features Pharrell.

Other notable tracks include ‘90210’, ‘Contemplate’ and ‘Diary’ which features Marsha Ambrosius from Floetry. Gucci Mane, Weensey, Jazmine Sulivan, Michele, K’Naan, Melanie Fiona, J. Cole and Lady Gaga also feature making the whole vibe complete. This is definitely one of the best Hip-Hop albums of 2009 and I think it’s an amazing debut album. I am sure 2010 will bring us more quality music from Wale. Well recommended.
