C-MURDER
This album is a classic hands down! Twenty-eight tracks deep it’s like No Limit where on the mixtape game even before it started. ‘Bossaline’ was ahead of it’s time not just musically but even with the whole approach to making this album. In my opinion ‘Bossaline’ is one of the best CD’s released by No Limit, which is saying something when you look at the back catalogue. All the elements of true classic album are here and even though C-Murder is considered a legend by most I still feel this album was truly overlooked. The artwork is Pen & Pixel at its best and that limited edition CD packaging is the bomb too. As for the music it all starts from the opening track ‘Ghetto Day’ featuring his then label mates Mac and Kane & Abel. It’s quality reality rap with a sprinkling of something deeper and special. Other killer choice cuts include the awesome Snoop Dogg collaboration ‘Gangsta Walk’ and ‘Livin Legend’ featuring his brother Master P. ‘Still Makin Moves’ is a strong track too which shows the talent of Corey Miller so well. O’Dell’s (from Beats From the Pound) production on ‘On My Enemies’ is outstanding and one of the biggest tracks ‘Ghetto Millionaire’ with Snoop Dogg, Kurupt and Nate Dogg still sounds super fresh. Soulja Slim (R.I.P) and Fiend go hard on the last track ‘Closin Down Shop’ (Produced by Mo. B Dick). Daz, Silkk The Shocker, Sons Of funk and Porsha also feature making this one of the best Gangsta Rap albums of all time. Review by Tricksta |
