![]() VILLIANS ‘Welcome To Wolftown’ Album (Wolftown Recordings) www.myspace.com/villainswolftown www.wolftownrecordings.com This is one of the best British Rap albums of all time. Twenty tracks deep this was recorded in 1998 and 1999, then released in September 2000. Consisting of rappers LATE and Profesah 194, and DJ’s & beatmakers IMD and Tricksta, Villains where in my opinion a little bit before their time, which at the time of release made them totally unique. In an era that was dominated by rucksack music and hundreds of 12” releases on Rawkus Records, Villains came different with artwork and look which was inspired by Suave House, No Limit and Cash Money releases. Their first release ‘UK Sound’ is included on this album, as is ‘Gotta Get The Cash’, ‘Heir To The Throne’ as well as the much talked about ‘Dark Visions’ and the brilliant label posse cut ‘For The Mans Dem’ which saw the likes of 10Shott, Size8, Jai Boo, Big Wayne, High Timez and Lee Dee all make their debut. The production and the concepts are so original that this album still stands up now. There are a few UK albums that you need in your collection and this is one of them!
