LIL WAYNE
Those cool folks at Weinerworld hooked us up with their latest urban DVD release this time by a true legend in the game Lil Wayne. Yes folks, with the rise of Southern music over the last five years, there’s been no real major label releases without featuring Lil Wayne. Every DJ and his dog have done a mixtape with Wayne, making him one of the hottest rappers in the USA for years. With the recent events of tracks getting leaked on the internet from his ‘The Carter 3’ album, Wayne is now back in the studio finishing something fresh for his fans, but while we wait for that this DVD is destined to keep us going, while also educating us on some of the things we maybe didn’t know about Wayne. So onto the DVD and its basically done is a documentary style with raw & uncut and exclusive footage from the beginning of Lil Wayne’s infamous career. Check for contributions from the likes of his fellow Cash Money Records artists Baby, BG and Mannie Fresh, as well as strings of music videos that a lot of UK cats won’t have seen due to MTV in the UK being a little wack when it comes to playing Stateside videos that aren’t massive crossover pop hits. After seeing Wayne’s style and swagger and learning more about the hoodz of New Orleans you get a feeling that you more him and understand him more. Urban Edge DVD’s are always put together so well, with an easy to navigate menu and some nice simple and ‘to the point’ artwork. This is another classic DVD release from the UK’s number one Hip-Hop DVD Company. Big DVD and something Lil Wayne fans will adore, love and cherish. Review by Tricksta |
