WOODSTOCK DIARY 1969 ‘Friday, Saturday, Sunday’ (Wienerworld) www.wienerworld.com
Totally non-Hip-Hop I know, but I thought I’d review this as I know a lot of our readers are quite open minded and just like to know what’s going on in general. This new DVD from Weinerworld is three hour musical spectacular caught on him and is somewhat of a moment in history for music.
For those younger readers I feel I need to break this down in terms you’ll get! LOL. I mean, you have Glastonbury which gets around 180,000 people and we’ve all saw that on the TV right? Well this is Woodstock, the event that inspired Glastonbury and indeed had a turn out of 500,000 people on that infamous weekend of August 15th 1969. It hosted twenty-six now legendary artists over a three day weekend and included some of the biggest names in music.
This DVD celebrates Woodstock’s 40th anniversary in true style and has a real good feel to it. It takes you behind the scenes, and gives you a ‘fly on the wall’ style rockumentary about its creation and why it started. It features appearances from the likes of The Who, Janis Joplin, Jim Hendrix, Jo Cocker, Sly & The Family Stone amongst others make appearances. It’s such an enjoyable and for me educational viewing, as well as being really enjoyable.
