Hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, Gage-One a.k.a. Gage The Conqueror, has been on the East Coast underground scene for over a decade. This is Gage's debut EP release & warm up to his first album "The Desolate Lands”. In his time, Gage-One (The Conqueror) has collaborated with the likes of Barretta 9 (Killarmy) , Tame One , Prince Po , Slaine ( La Coka Nostra) Black Silver, Warcloud a,k,a. Holocaust, Tragic Allies, Shabazz The Disciple, & Ayatollah. The EP is mainly focused around the song "Dead Angel" which features Holocaust a.k.a. Warcloud from Wu Tang/Black Knights. There’s 1 original & 3 remix versions featuring Rhetoric (Evil Dead) and Aslan (12 Jewels), boasting production by Snake Vs Crane, Aslan, Prophet One and DJ Extremidiz. The track "The Gospel" is also appears, with the original produced by White Lotus and 2 remixes by Prophet One. Last but not least is the Click Animosity song "Blackout" featuring Trust and Deewuallah, produced by Semantix. Murky, dark & hardcore sums this release out. If you hadn’t seen the cover artwork you can almost picture it by listening to the tracks! The stark contrast in sound between “Dead Angel” & “The Gospel”, allows Gage to show the versatility of his rapping on different production styles. He’s also well backed up by the guest vocalists. With hints of influence by Sunz Of Man & Shabazz the Disciple (I’m sure he wont mind me saying), this can only mean Gage is reppin’ that classic hardcore East Coast style. I’m strongly recommending my dude’s music. Gage gets it in, so check him out! Check out Gage & his various projects at: Review by Rich Unique |
