Always hard on the grind, DJ Bad Guy is a deejay with immense skills and is always pushing and promoting talent. We sent Tricksta to get the lowdown on one of New York’s most respected underground DJ’s…
Whattup man, hope you’re good. I know you are mad busy so lets get in to it! When did you start DJ’ing? What up Tricksta, I’m gud. Yeh, I started about ten years ago.
Do you have a radio show, if tell us about it? Not yet but its coming soon on www.thatshiphop.com
Have you done any mixtapes, if so what’s the most popular? Yeah I did some mixtapes giving them out to the streets for free most popular is probably my dedication mixtape for all those that are gone but not forgotten.
Do you produce? If so who have you produced for? Not yet!
Where are you from and what’s the club scene like there? I'm from the Bronx, New York the club scene out here is always popping on any given night I love it
Do you play out in clubs often? If so which ones? Not yet I’m still on the come up grinding with my mixtapes but I would love too hopefully I will get that chance
What three records are you playing at the moment? Well if I was playing in the club I would be playing ‘Empire State Of Mind’ from Jay-Z and Alicia Keys, Snoop Dogg ‘I Wanna Rock’ and Rihanna Feat Young Jeezy so hard but there are so many other records I would love to play for the people!
If you were DJ’ing and you were going to drop a classic track what would it be and why? Mmmm… there are so many I could drop but off the top of my head right now I would drop Snoop Dogg's ‘Gin And Juice’. Because I like to see people have a good time and get twisted and enjoy themselves.
What other DJ’s do you inspired you to become a DJ? Wow again there are so many especially being from New York city but I would have to go with Funk Master Flex, DJ Kool, DJ Red Alert, Kid Capri, DJ Enuff, DJ Camilo, DJ Green Lantern, DJ Kay Slay, DJ Mr. Cee, DJ Bobby Trends, DJ Cipha Sounds, the list goes on and on!
Where do you see yourself five years from now? Umm… hopefully (god willing) still above ground and becoming officially apart of the Hip-Hop music industry representing the streets and our hip hop community here in New York.
Is there anybody you want to shout out? Shout out to both my sons Justin and Jordan, my artist C Da Truth all my homies from the hood. Shouts to www.thatshiphop.com, DJ Kay Slay, DJ Green Lantern, DJ Vlad, DJ Scrill, , Bottom Feeder Music and of course Rago Magazine for taking the time out to interview me, I really appreciate it!
