RH BLESS from Brooklyn - New York, USA
You first bust out in 1998 on Shabazz Tha Disciple's massive underground hit 'Ghetto Apostles' in 1998, which also featured Freestyle from The Arsonists and Poetic from Gravediggaz. What was it like working with those cats back in the day?
It was a good experience. The energy between us was always strong and positive which made the creative side very easy. We simply threw the beat on, caught a vibe, threw ideas back and forth and the song was done. Real quick! That particular session was a memorable one because I remember Poetic and Baz having us all laughing hard all night, just having fun. That's how this hip-hop sh*t is supposed to make you feel.

DOYEN D from Sheffield, UK
Give the readers a brief background to what you have released so far and what your main achievements in the game are.
I started back in 93, I used to work with Dave The Ruf in Manchester, we dropped a promo back then that was my first outing on wax. I came back home to Sheffield and started f**king with some local labels; I put out 3 12's and an EP within a year and half. Dropped an EP on Welsh label SFDB, then set up Street Legal Music and dropped another EP then 2 albums, the latest of which is Malevolence Volume one my new cd. My greatest achievement is that I'm still here doin it.

ALVARE from New Jersey, USA
For those that don't know who you are, give us a brief breakdown of how ya got into the game and what titles you have released so far.
First of all good looking out for allowing me to bless the masses with my experiences on your magazine. I started writing lyrics back in 92'. A good friend of mine named George Emmett who was real nice with his rhymes told me that it would be phat if I started rhyming because it would catch people off guard with my appearance and national origin which is Cuban. I started to write like crazy and the rest is history.

BUSHWICK BILL from Texas, U.S.A
As part of one of the biggest rap acts to ever come from Texas, The Geto Boys kick started the Southern sound. Bushwick Bill was an integral element of this happening alongside Scarface and Willie D. They are to the south what NWA are to the West Coast and what Rakim and Kool G Rap are to the East Coast. If it wasn't for those reality rap classics like "Minds Playing Tricks On Me", "Ever So Clear" and "Mind Of a Lunatic" we probably wouldn't be listening to some the artists we are listening to now. RAGO Magazine is purely honoured to have this exclusive interview with the godfather of Southern reality rap. Bushwick Bill... we salute you. After leaving Rap A Lot Records in 1998 tell the readers what have you been up to?
Before I answer the questions I would like to give big ups to my homies Tricksta, LATE, Size8 and Wayney G for putting down the 'Blast' track on the DSO album. After I left Rap-A-Lot in 1998 I signed to a label called 'Ichaban' where I released the album "No Surrender, No Retreat". The album did real well but the cock-suckers did not pay me my chips. Then I signed with another record label called 'Nu Wave' and released the album "Universal Small Soldier", which also did really well and those cock-suckers also did not give me my chips. Now I am with a management company and a label in which I have ownership interest called BDK Entertainment/Management. The album "Different Style Organizations" which is now being sold over the internet and is stores now.

CRISIS CENTER PRO from Strong Island - New York, U.S.A
Now this group is something special. They are best described as… well, er hip-hop. In its purest form, Crisis Center make etched their mark this scene. Outta New York/Strong Island the group consists of Undefined-Christ Of Rhyme and DJ Concept. Now with a hot new 12 "Beautiful Music" these cats really are ready to blow. 100% official. These mans are SIICCCKIKK!!!!! Your previous single 'Trick Photography' made a lot of noise in the UK. What has the response been like in NYC?
It's definitely been crazy and overwhelming! It's real important for us to say thanks to all the heads that have been supporting us in every way. None of this would have been possible without y'all. When we put this record together we were coming off a bad time with our previous groups so we really wanted to put everything we had into every aspect of the record. When we dropped the wax, we hustled 7 days a week, day and night to get the music out there, then things just started to have that snowball effect. We just stay focused and on top of our game and feel real blessed.

INDEPENDENT HYPE from Bristol, UK.
Oshin AKA Nomad has been repping hard for hip-hop music for as long as I can remember. As part of the Brixton super group 57th Dynasty he excelled himself as one of the UK's finest and most experienced rappers. But there's more to Oshin than first meets the eye. Creatively he has now shown he has got skillz behind the mic and now with his new DVD series 'Independent Hype' he has the skillz behind the camera. Corner 2 Corner 'Volume One' is the first documentary to drop from Independent Hype. It first dropped on Oshin's birthday 14th March 2003 on limited edition VHS. It hit the streets hard and was available in shops in Scotland, London, Sheffield, Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Leicester, Coventry and Bristol before selling out! It really is one of the best UK rap documentaries to come out of Britain. RAGO Magazine sent Tricksta to hook up with the travelling MC and filmmaker to find out more…
Explain to the readers exactly what 'Corner 2 Corner' is.
"It's a straight forward account of wha gwarn in the UK hip-hop scene. This documentary takes you beneath the surface thru the UK's urban streets, giving you a true insight into not only the music industry, but also the perils of life within our inner cities. Its got all ya favourite artists on there such as 57th Dynasty, Wolftown Committee, Fallacy, MD7, MC D, Prestige and more, as well as some guest appearances by Afrika Bambaattaa, Maeseo, Dilated Peoples, The Beatnuts, Rahzel and more. It's fresh and original. Ain't anything in the UK like it!"
