Rago Magazine caught up with producer and record lable owner Triffe aka Triple-Life from QLD Australia
Introduce your self and tell us where you’re from? I go by the name Triffe aka Triple-Life, im from the islands but I grew up in QLD Australia, ive spent most of my life here in QLD. What’s the scene like out there? Out here its more skateboards and graffiti when it comes to hip hop but australia is not really a good industry for rap music, its more rock & roll out here. I dont associate with the local scene. What music was bumping when you where coming up? When i was young we were into all the mainstream stuff, some were listening to Snoop, Eazy E, Warren G. We had everything over here but me personally I was a Bone Thugs fan, thats all i listened to. What made you get into producing? I never really did music until back around 2001 when I ran into one of my friends who was trying to get into the music business, at first I started making beats then just went all out and started my own business as a producer and record label.I started to meet other artist's and it just built from there.
What equipment do you use? The software I use the most is reason, I dont really use pro tools because all those programs can do the job, so for me its not really important what I use. reason is my favourite. What artists have you worked with ? So far I have worked with artist's like Bigg Tupp Wit 2"s In It, O.Y.G RedruM781, Big SpookLoc, Big Prodeje & Big Havikk (South Central Cartel), K Glock, Xl Middleton, Young Sau and a whole bunch of others.
You run your own label Triffe Entertainment Music Company tell us about that? My label is mainly used to help promote independent artist's, we release music by other artist's and help artist's manage their own music. The label is mainly working with Gangsta Rap Music. You have a website called www.Gangstaraptoday.com tell us about this? The website gangstaraptoday is my official store that sells music from artist's that are associated with Triffe Entertainment Music Company. we sell digital and physical music and make sure that the artist get paid. I personally deal with alot of artist's that run their own business so this was set up to help us make money and not lose it all to fees and other problems you get when you deal with the music industry giants.
What are all your websites and social media sites so people can check out your music? www.Twitter.com/triffe_ent www.youtube.com/triffeentertainment www.facebook.com/triffe.ent www.myspace.com/triffeentertainment iTunes Ping = Triffe Entertainment Where can people buy your music? you can get the latest release from our artist Big Gizmo "Southern Most West Coast" on cdbaby and iTunes, most music stores have it in stock. http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/southern-most-west-coast/id474828644 http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/biggizmothabloccentertai If people want to get a beat made by you what is the best way to get in contact with you? At the moment I dont sell beats, I really want to work with artist's, and have some input on the song. but if you keep an eye on my Soundcloud page you might be able to get a beat from me. What have you got planned for 2012 and the future? 2012 I will be releasing a few singles and im hoping to put out a album, also im working with a few atist's on their release's so this year and next year im hoping to put out a few release's. In the future im hoping to keep Gangsta Rap alive, its the music from the streets and if we lose it, we are gonna lose poetry in music. Any thing you want to add or shoutout? Yeah i just want to give a shout out to Bigg Tupp Wit 2P's In It, RedruM781 and Phuj Doose, they have been a big part of my music ever since i started so i have alot of respect for them as artist's, but also Big Prodeje & Big Havikk, XL Middleton, Young Sau, K Glock, Shady Ray, Six Million, big shout out to all of them... and one person i cant leave out is my cuz Big SpookLoc who im always working with...
