When I heard LATE & Tricksta was doing a mixtape with New York rapper Ali Vegas I was immediately excited. Two reasons, I always know LATE & Tricksta have a habit of doing mixtapes with sick US artists and their mixes are always nicely put together, hosted well and mastered nice too, and the other reason is that I know they manage to get the heat, those hard to get joints.

Ali Vegas is hot, I mean after listening to this I begin to think that this like hearing Nas for the first time. That wonderful authentic vocal tone just gets me every time, plus he speaks sense and not just your average ‘crack, cars, women, drugs, guns’ NYC shizzle. He is deeper than that, and reminds me of the essence of Hip-Hop. Some tracks have cuts and sampled hooks, with lashings of funk and soul.

The beauty of this mixtape too is that it’s FREE. It’s like a ‘best of Ali Vegas’ mixtape and is something that is well worth the five minutes it takes to download. Heavy tape and a heavy MC.
