DJ MK Presents SKANDAL
‘Hunger Pains’

I had an argument the other day with someone the other day who was saying UK Hip-Hop is dead because its dead and the new peeps coming through want grime. I said that is such stupid comment. Why? Well for a start they are two different genres. I mean how can you compare Dwelle and Flo-Rida or even Black Sabbath or Bon Jovi? LOL!

I mean when you got artists like Skandal coming through how can this genre be ‘dead’? UK Hip-Hop ain’t dead it’s just that majors ain’t signing lyrical artists; they are obviously looking for product they can take to the masses. This why I think the whole segregation needs to stop, its bad enough its called ‘UK’, on a real its just ‘Music’ and good music is what we have here. ‘Hunger Pains’ is a classic.

Skandal is like a breath of fresh air and with MK on the wheels of steel this is the ultimate package. I mean who has ever heard a sloppy MK tape? No one, coz they don’t exist! Skandal has bars; I mean bars, real flows, hooks and style. Its releases like this that reminds me why I am into rap music. Since last years ‘Project A EP’, this South London has been searching for perfection and now he has it.

‘Home Economics’ produced by the talented Beat Butcha is a real highlight, as is ‘The Other Side’ featuring Roll Deep’s Little Dee, but this tape isn’t about the collaboration tracks and solo efforts like ‘F**k A 9 To 5’ and ‘Check Ya Inbox’ back that statement. I’m feeling Skandal and feel he has a big career in music, there are people who do this and then there are people who HAVE to do this. Big up Skandal because this release is massive.
