Born in Philadelphia, PA and raised in Washington, D.C. Calico signifies "Real Hip Hop." This nineteen track mixtape is worth its weight in gold. Not only does Calico go hard, as well as actually saying something but the mixing and hosting by DJ Smoke is hefty too. There’s a good mixture here of freestyles over new and old classic beats as well as some actual production. ‘Live Free Or Die’ produced by King Phyre impressed me as did the Track Legend produced joint ‘This That’. What I like about Calico is not only his delivery but its vocal tone, as well as the way he says stuff. I like Calico, and this mixtape really does him justice. It did leave me wanting more, so Calico if you are reading this, c’mon homie hit us off with the follow-up soon! LOL. Solid quality music!
