Yes, yes people it’s finally here, the brand new mixtape CD from Brixton’s Grizzly. For those that don’t know Grizzly well you need a slap for sleeping, but nah, serious, this is that good food. This is like your favourite meal served up piping hot with your favourite drink just before your favourite desert. Its good food too, it’s healthy, it’s full of vitamins and is something you need in your diet!!! Kicking off with ‘Back Harder Than Ever’ this CD goes in hard. The flow is sharp, the delivery is precise and there’s a real professional vibe here. Dekar, Big Narstie & Terror jump on track three entitled ‘Hardest’ which is a hard-hitting up-tempo banger which impressed. The mixtape continues keeping the grime fans more than happy, but the next track really showed me how diverse Grizzly could be giving up a great concept with ‘Stressed out Lately’. Here Grizzly touches on relationships and the heartache that some men go through. This is done in a clever way and shows that Grizzly should never be classed as just a Grime act, as he is so much more. Other highlights include the inspiring ‘Music, Money, Motivation’, the banging ‘Champion’ which features on the forthcoming UK Runnings mixtape ‘Grimewatch UK Volume Three’ and the killer collaboration with Killa P and Majah Tunder ‘Informers & Snakes’. Fans of those big posse cuts will love the ‘Brixton 10’ track. This is a monster of a track that sees Grizzly go hard with Big Narstie, Terror, Demo, Tracer, Dekar, R.P, Mr Chalwa, Phatman & Slash joining him on an ill beat. From listening to this new mixtape I realised a few things. Firstly Grizzly is more than a Grime MC, he is a songwriter and a recording artist with style and finesse. Most would say swagger, but fuck swagger as that word doesn’t do him justice! Secondly he is real. So real that when hearing his bars you feel like you almost know him and understand his mindset and thirdly it’s finally hit home that Grizzly is one of the best in the UK right now. He has delivered an excellent project that is original and for that I salute him. Grizzly for prime minister is what I say. Make sure you go and cop this… serious. Put you hand in your pocket and support the real. ‘AWOL Volume Two – Never Gonna Rest’ is a future classic. Or contact him to buy your copy NOW… Review by Tricksta |
